You don’t need to be a professional photographer to learn how to frame pictures. No matter what the subject is, the photo will always look more polished when properly framed.

Acid free tape

Photo
Change the photo size. Decide if you want the picture to be larger or smaller. If you want, crop the image.
Step 2
Have the photo printed in matte. This will get rid of the glare which becomes conspicuous when the picture is set into the frame. This will also remove the fingerprints.
Step 3
Choose a frame that matches the photo subject or theme. If the picture subject is outdoors, you may opt for a rustic looking frame. If you want a more formal look, you can go for a gold or silver frame. There are also simple frames available if you like.
Step 4
You can also select a mat. The size of the mat will depend on the picture frame. If you have an 11 x 14 inch frame and want to utilize a mat, the ideal photo size is 8 by 10 inches. As you learn how to frame pictures, knowing how to coordinate the size of the frame, mat and photo will be critical.
Step 5
Once you have the frame, open its back and take out the backing. Set the photo on the mat. You can also set it on the shipboard backing.
Step 6
Connect the photo to the mat or backing using the acid free tape. Next, you have to put the mat or backing into the frame. Make sure the photo is facing the glass. Make adjustments to the position if needed. Make sure the picture is centered and straight. It must also
be in the frame.
Step 7
If the picture alignment is correct, you can close the back frame.
Step 8
When it is finished, hang the frame.
Tips
If you are framing numerous photos, a collage frame may be more sufficient. In this case, you will have to trim or crop the pictures. Take care when you stick the picture to the mat.
Make sure that you use sufficient tape so it remains in place. Be careful also when taking the tape off. Unless you are careful, it can wreck the photo.
Understanding how to frame pictures is easy. Even the most casual photographers can do it. But you must male sure the frame style matches the photo. The way you hang the frame can also affect its look.
