Installing mini blinds is a relatively easy task that 
requires only the most basic pieces of equipment you can find at home. It will only take a few minutes to put up each mini blind on your window. It is almost common knowledge that blinds on windows help with too much sunlight entering your room. Other than protecting your quarters from the hot sun, they also give you a bit of privacy. We’ll walk you through the easy steps on how to install mini blinds.
Required Materials and Tools
You’ll need the following materials and tools for installing mini blinds. Obviously you’ll need to purchase mini blinds. Choose the ones that have designs and colors that complement your room. Next prepare either a folding ruler or a measuring tape. You’ll need tools like screwdrivers, awls, level, power drill, a stepladder, and wall anchors. Check if some pieces of equipment come with the package when you purchase your blinds.
Some brands give away simple free tools, like wall anchors, to help with installing mini blinds. Mini blind packages will definitely come with mounting brackets. You don’t have to figure out which size of screws to get because these also come also with the package when you buy a set of blinds. Check your package before leaving the store to make sure you have all the necessary items.
Tip: You might want to go for cordless blinds instead of models that have looped lift cords. Installing mini blinds of either type won’t have much of a difference. However, blinds that have lift cords are known to be hazardous both to pets and little children.
Installing Mini Blinds
The first step to install mini blinds is to measure the length of your blinds. Give the measurements you then have to decide where to mount them. You can either mount them on the inside or the outside of the window frame. Mounting them on the outside gives you better control on how much sunlight to let in while inside mounting will make your room look better if you’re after interior design.
Measure and mark where the mounting brackets will go. You should give about an inch of clearance for the mounting brackets when you make your marks if you plan to mount inside. Mounting outside will require you to mark exactly the entire area where you will be mounting. You should at least cover the entire window for outside mounting to be effective.
The next step is to fix the brackets on the corners of the window casing using screws. You may have to use a couple of screws to mount each bracket, which depends on the bracket’s design. After that, slide the mini blind into the brackets while keeping the wand to the left. Once the blinds are completely inside the brackets seal the ends using the caps. Finally, check the length of each blind and remove some slides accordingly if they are too long.
