Rats and mice can be real pests as they eat and chew on just about anything. But if you know how to build a mouse trap, these nuisances will be a thing of the past.
Mouse trap 1
Required Tools and Materials
Bucket
Water
Long piece of wood (wide enough for mouse to cross)
Soap or detergent (optional)
Step 1
Get a bucket and fill it with water ¾ of the way. You can put some soap or detergent in the water. Put the container where the rats usually appear. Now set a ramp (any wood piece will do) up to the bucket rim. Set one of the ramp’s ends near the ground. Place the other end close to the bucket’s top.
Step 2
Put some seeds along the ramp. Put some in the water also. Make sure the seeds form a trail. Leave the bucket there overnight. The rats will be attracted by the seeds. They will consume the seeds on the ramp and fall in the water. Dispose of the rats if you want to use the bucket again.
How to Build a Mouse Trap II
The above-mentioned trap will kill the rats. If you don’t want to kill them, you can try the following method.
Required Tools and Materials
Food bait (seeds, crackers or other food bits)
Bucket
Toilet paper tube
Table or chair
Step 1
Get a plastic shaped tube, wood or cardboard. Be certain the tube is large enough for a rat to go into. A good choice would be toilet paper. Fold the tube so it is shaped like a tunnel.
Step 2
Get a stool, chair or table. Move it to where you intend to trap the mouse. Put the tunnel tube close to the table’s end. A fourth of the tube should be on the table and ¾ projecting from the end.
Step 3
Put a tall and heavy bucket below the tube (the part that is hanging out). Put some food at the end of the tube. Aside from seeds, you can use cracker crumbs too.
Step 4
Steer clear of the mouse trap. Make sure the place is quiet. The mouse will come and go after the food. Because of the food placement, it will fall into the bucket. When the mouse falls in the bucket, you can dispose of the mouse. Use the trap again if you like.
Don’t hang around the area waiting for the mouse to come. After you build a mouse trap, put it in the area the mice frequent. Keep the area quiet.
