How to Repair a Washing Machine Hose Permanently
Step 1
Turn the water supply off using the knob. Shut the power down on the circuit.
Step 2
Get a cutting tool and use it to cut the damaged part of the hose that is connected to the water supply valve. The hose end you unhooked from the washer must be cut too. Make sure both hose ends are smooth.
Step 3
Bring the hose’s free end with you to the store. Buy a hose repair coupling that is suitable for it.
Step 4
Connect the coupling end on the hose side linked to the water supply. Put the other coupling on the hose’s free end. Secure the couplings using the compression clamps. Hook up the two hose ends with the coupling you just bought.
Step 5
Reconnect the hose on the inlet of the washing machine.
Tips and Warnings
Sometimes the compression fittings can be difficult to set into the ends of the hose. If that’s the case, lubricate it with a bit of dish soap. Allow the hose to dry before you attempt to fix it.
Exercise caution when working with electricity and water.
Before you fix the washing machine, check the warranty of the product. If it is still under warranty, take it to the shop. Repairing it when under warranty may void the warranty.
If you are going to repair a washing machine, make certain you are knowledgeable of the parts and components. Do not attempt to remove any components unless you know you can put them back.
