Tweezers

Philips screwdriver

Step 1

Put the PS2 on a table. Turn the console so the back is facing you. Remove all the screws with the screwdriver. You have to remove a total of eight screws.

Take off the PS2 casing. Put it aside.

Step 3

Get your screwdriver. Take out all the screws on the disc assembly top. This will be within the PS2.

Step 4

Lint-free cloth
Baking soda toothpaste
PS2 game disc

Step 1

Put the disc on a level surface like a table. Make sure the shiny side is facing up.

Step 2

Put a bit of toothpaste on the cloth. Spread the toothpaste uniformly on the cloth.

Step 3

Wipe this cloth on the disc. Start from the center of the disc and work your way to the outer edges. If the scratches are numerous, apply more toothpaste.

Step 4

Leave the toothpaste on the discs for a couple of minutes. After two minutes, rinse the disc well.

Step 5

Let the air dry the disc naturally. When it is totally dry, put the disc in the PS2. The game should run. if it does not run, repeat the process. Don’t forget to let it dry first.

Tips and Warnings

Use only toothpaste paste; do not use gel. If you do not have toothpaste, you can use butter. Never wipe the disc in a circular motion. This will aggravate the scratches and make the disc unplayable.
