Few gardening aficionados are able to make do without a greenhouse. Fortunately, there are ways to build a greenhouse.
Required Tools and Materials
60 2 ½ inch fence staples
40×24 feet of UV stabilized polyethylene
(4) treated 8 foot fence posts
80 feet of 2×4 x 10 treated wood
(2) 20 foot lengths of 1 inch schedule 40 PVC (cut into inch pieces)
(7) 20 foot lengths of 1 inch schedule 40 PVC with 3/16-1/4 inch hole drilled center at ten ft
(5) 20 foot pieces of 5/8 inch rebar
String
Drill
Tape measure
Rebar
Paper
Stretch a string from the front and back according to the dimensions of your greenhouse frame. Hammer a nail at the string’s end point to make the walls. Secure another string to its left. Take the door panel measurements. Create an opening for the doorway.
Step 2
Repeat the procedure for the back door as you build a greenhouse.
Step 3
Put down the 2x4s by the string line. Take out the string. Set a wood block on the frame’s inner corner to join the wood pieces.
Step 4
Drill holes on the long walls. This will serve as the greenhouse base. 6 ribs should be on the greenhouse sides. Drill another hole. Take measurements on the opposing side to ensure the poles are aligned.
Step 5
Get a paper and illustrate the PVC pipe opening. Drill a hole in the wood. Make a pattern on the wood. Drill within the pattern to make sure the fit is tight.
Step 6
Put a rebar 12 inches in the ground. Put the 20 ft PVC pipe above the rebar. Twist this into the wood. Do this to finish the frame one row at a time.
Step 7
There are two ways to put the roof on. The first is to keep flexing the rebar and connect the cover to the pipe. The second is to connect PVC L joints to create a level roof. Use bailing wire or copper to secure the structure.
Step 8
Drill holes at the base to put the bailing wire through. The opening has to be big enough to thread around the rebar and back. Anchor this with a nail. Repeat this on the other anchor points. Install the door and you are finished.
There are many ways to build a greenhouse, but the instructions given above are quite simple. Even if you have little building skills, you should be able to finish the project over the weakened.
