Paying a carpenter to build a porch can set you back a tidy sum. Instead, you can use this guide to make the porch yourself.
Required Tools and Materials

Lag bolts

Make a sill plate with the 2 x 4 foot boards. Ensure that the template is square.
Step 2
Secure the sill plate corners on the concrete floor using the concrete anchors. You have to drill into the cement and put in the plastic anchors. Use the lag bolts to secure the sill.
Step 3
Fasten a wood layer on the sill plate’s top. Add trim to the inside wall’s bottom. This is optional only.
Step 4
Ensconce the upper plate. Set a stud on the wall above the sill plate. Secure it in place for now. Put the top plate board against the ceiling. Make sure it is propped on the stud. This will provide support for the opposing side. Mark this spot before you continue to build a porch.
Step 5
Take off the base plates if there is a doorway. Just chop it off with a saw.
Step 6
Assess the screen width so you know where to put the wall studs. Add the studs. Put two studs on the side prior to putting the screen.
Step 7
Make a line on the studs 32 inches off the flooring.
Step 8
Toenail screws on the 2 x 4 feet. Fasten them between the studs. Cut some 2 x 2 boards the length of the sill plate and top rail. Set them evenly against the outer wall. Fasten it with nails.
Step 9
Add the doorstep on the sides and top of the door area. This should be done after the door has been framed.
Step 10
Now you can start to paint the door. Chop the screen to the right size. Put it on using staples. The screen should be stapled to the side and stretched out to the other before being stapled. Cut, prime and then paint it. Install this so you conceal the screen.
Step 11
Now you have to hang up the screen doors. Make sure to place a lath below the door (a gap of ¼ inch will be fine). Install it using wall hinges.
