Your hair is your crowning glory, as people would say, and having dull and dry hair could really have a huge impact on how you look. If you have dry or damaged hair, before you make that trip to the salon and spend a fortune, you should try out some home remedies first.
There are several homemade remedies on how to repair damaged hair and these are more affordable than a trip to the hair experts.
How to Repair Damaged Hair at Home
One of the things that cause damage to the hair is dryness. Over time, this may make your hair brittle which could result in split ends and/or frizzy hair. This being said, the first thing you need to work on is the dryness of your hair.
Bring back the natural oils of your hair by using homemade conditioners.
Egg-Olive Oil Conditioner
To make your egg-olive oil conditioner, take one yolk and combine this with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Whisk until you have incorporated both ingredients and then apply on your hair.
Make sure that you apply a generous amount on the ends and then leave the conditioner on for three to four minutes and then wash off with tap water. Shampoo hair after.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E has been known to bring back the shine in your hair and make it smoother. Take about five to six Vitamin E capsules and take out the Vitamin E oil from the capsules.
Mix this with your regular shampoo. Use the amount that you would normally wash your hair with. Proceed to shampoo your hair with your Vitamin E-shampoo mix. Rinse well with tap water.
Avocado and Coconut Hair Conditioner
Both avocado and coconut have oils that help repair damaged hair while coating your hair cuticles to alleviate further damage.
Take one egg yolk and combine this with about half of an avocado fruit, mashed. While mixing these two ingredients, slowly pour in just enough amount of coconut milk so you can have a smooth consistency.
Apply on hair and scalp. Leave on for a few minutes and then wash off with tap water.
Vinegar Wash
This is the simplest form of homemade hair repair treatment. Take about 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar and mix this with about a quart of water. Shampoo hair first and then use this mixture to wash off the shampoo.
Vinegar rehydrates your hair while also getting rid of residues in your hair. It acts as a restorative agent to bring back the shine in your hair.
